Q: Who needs to get the Flu vaccine?

A: Active duty required per NAVADM 158/24 all active duty will be vaccinated or have proof of medical waiver NLT December 31, 2024. Everyone 6 months and older should get a Flu vaccine every season. Vaccination is important for people who are at a higher risk of complication from Influenza such as, the elderly, children aged six month to four years, pregnant women regardless of trimester, immunosuppressed individuals or people with chronic medical conditions.

Q: Who is eligible to receive the Flu vaccine at one of these Fluex events?

A:  Tricare beneficiaries such as active duty, active duty family member, and retirees are eligible to receive the flu vaccine during the evolution. We also have one day on October 30th dedicated for DODEA teachers and DODEA staff.

Q: Where can people with other health insurance go to receive the Flu vaccine?

A: Wednesday afternoons from 1300-1600 at the Immunizations Clinic in Medical Home Port at Naval Hospital Sigonella on October 23rd, October 30th, and November 13th (3yrs and up). We will have additional staff to support administration of vaccines on these days.

Q: Do you need an appointment to receive the Flu vaccine in the clinic?

A: Children under 3 years old need an appointment for flu vaccine and all other populations may walk into the clinic.

Q: How do we make an appointment to get the Flu vaccine?

A: You may call the appointment desk at 095-56-2273 to make an appointment at the Immunization Clinic (NAS 1). You may go to Flight Line Clinic (NAS 2) as a walk-in.
