Description of Services

The laboratory department provides all required laboratory services. It provides Clinical and Anatomical Pathology services; as well as transfusion services to support patient care.

Appointments

Laboratory hours is designed to provide convenient and timely service.

The phlebotomy area is open Monday to Friday during the designated hours. Closed on  weekends, and holidays.

The main laboratory operates 24 hours a day seven days a week to meet the need of our patients.

Around the clock, professionals in the Laboratory at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Sigonella provide vital information to Health Care Providers.

They do so by performing a variety of laboratory procedures, which range from identifying microorganisms that cause disease to operating sophisticated instruments that analyze blood, tissues and other body fluids to providing data to support the patient clinical diagnosis.

These professionals are trained in specimen processing and mail-out, Hematology, Chemistry, Immunology, Serology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Cytology and Histology.
