Scope Of Care:

The Nutrition Clinic provides individual and class appointments by physician consult or self-referral. Call the TRICARE appointment line at (800) 404-4506 to make an appointment.
The nutrition education program covers various topics such as: performance nutrition, weight management, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, prenatal nutrition, baby and child nutrition, general nutrition, needed weight gain, vegetarian, and low fat, just to name a few.

Classes Offered:

Shipshape Weight Management Program

- The ShipShape Program is the official Navy weight management program that assists Active Duty and Reserve military service members, beneficiaries, and government civilians with making healthy behavior changes in order to lose weight. The program consists of eight sessions that focus on three important components for weight loss: mindset, nutrition, and physical activity. The goal is to equip participants with the skills and resources necessary to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle. For further information, see Health Promotion and Wellness.

Visit the new web site to get tools and information to help you eat more fruits and vegetables each day!
  • Body Image – Loving your Image Inside and Out. With a positive or healthy body image, a woman has a real perception of her size and shape, and she feels comfortable with her body. With a negative body image, a woman has a distorted perception of her shape and size, compares her body to others, and feels shame and anxiety about her body. Being unhappy with your body can affect how you think and feel about yourself as a person. A poor body image can lead to emotional distress, low self-esteem, dieting, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. Developing a positive body image and a healthy mental attitude is crucial to a woman's happiness and wellness.

  • Warfighter Wellness – Just as high-octane fuel is important for Navy jets, healthy eating is crucial for fueling the human body. The HPW department understands the barriers to eating healthy. We have the educational resources and materials you need to help you select nutrient dense, healthy food for optimal performance.
  • Navy Operational Fitness and Fueling Series – No matter what your fitness goals are, good nutrition can help improve your exercise performance, decrease your recovery time from strenuous exercise, prevent injuries due to fatigue, and provide the fuel required during times of high-intensity training and weight control. Combining good nutrition with exercise also can help reduce the risk of numerous chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis and some cancers. Learning how nutrition and exercise work together for optimal health is essential.
